Hahei has a wide variety of activities and adventures for the whole family.
The world famous Cathedral Cove walk begins in Hahei. There are a few ways that you can explore the Cathedral Cove.
For advice on visiting Cathedral Cove, go the Department of Conservation website’s page on the Cathedral Cove walk.
One of these ways is the Hahei Explorer boat guided tours.
Another option is the guided kayak tours.
Finally you can take the Cathedral Cove water taxi right from Hahei beach.
If you fancy an easier walk, the east end of Hahei beach has a walkway up a set of stairs that leads to Pa hill.
Here you will find an incredible view over Hahei village and the surrounding islands and ocean.
Pa hill is a wonderful place to watch the sun rise or set.

The highlight of the Art Year, is the Mercury Bay Art Escape. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet both Hahei artists and other great artists in our area.
In 2019, it will start with a gala opening at Hot Waves Cafe at Hot Water Beach on Friday, 1 March, 2019, at 6.00pm.
Artist studios will be open on the weekends of March 2 & 3, and March 9 & 10.
